4 Impactful Holiday Outreach Events

The Christmas season provides a unique opportunity to be able to share the hope we have in Jesus to the communities around us, here in Cambodia. Our main ministry aim is to invest in the next generation of leaders of Cambodia and train them to be godly men and women who use their education and positions in society to pour themselves into their communities for the sake of Christ. During the Christmas season we are very intentional about using every opportunity we have to share our joy to the communities God has put around us.

Even as we speak the students are preparing plays, skits, songs, dances, and the gospel message to share with these specific outreach opportunities we have.

This year their are 4 specific outreach events we are focusing on:

1 - Kampongcham village school - This is the school we have been investing in all year. A village that has never had contact with Christians in a significant way until we came. We have been visiting the school monthly to teach English, soccer, and share Bible stories with them about Jesus. What's exciting is that this event will be the first time they will get to hear the Christmas story and celebrate what God had done. (This year we hope to not only share the good news of Jesus with the children but also provide backpacks for all the kids that come - around 300 - 400 children).

2. Takao village church - We have a long standing partnership with the pastor and this church. Each year we help them host their Christmas program and run the children's activities and messages. This is also the church who we often help provide school supplies for the kids upcoming school year. (around 250 children will be served)

3. Neighborhood children - One of the important lessons we try to teach the students is to not only care for those children far off who we visit, but also recognize that God has put you in a specific community in order to be salt and light in that place. Each year we invite the neighborhood children to the dorms to celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. This event has fostered such powerful relationships and strengthened the neighbors respect and openness to hear about Jesus. (around 70 children will be served)

4. Glory Church - Over the years we have carefully chosen a Khmer led church for our students to be involved in. It is led by a godly pastor with years of experience and training. It is an excellent place for our students to grow, learn, and at the same time be a huge blessing to the body of Christ there. Our students are planning to encourage the church through special songs and a drama, as well as participate in the church wide evangelism that happens at this time. (around 200-300 people will be served)

These are all amazing opportunities that we've been given, but it takes finances to be able to do most of these events. Our hope is to serve more than 1000 people during these 4 events. Many of who will hear the gospel for the first time as well as have some of their basic physical needs met. We want to be a blessing and share the hope we have with the communities around us.
